The Peace, Justice and Inclusion ministry at WPC invites you to the Public Policy Witness Purpose Group of the Presbytery of the James event, “Speaking Truth: Advocacy Training for People of Faith”, which will take place at the Early Center of Union Seminary.
Speaking Truth is intended for advocacy newcomers and seasoned veterans alike. First we will hear from keynote speakers Kim Bobo and Becky Bowers-Lanier, bona fide experts in the field of public policy advocacy. They will speak to what public policy advocacy is, and why it is such a valuable ministry for people of faith. Second will be three break-out sessions focused on particular policy areas: Immigration, Gun Violence, and RVA Transit. Participants will learn what advocacy work is being done in each as well as hands-on ways to get involved.
Sunday, November 13, 2016, 2:00-5:30 p.m., at the Early Center, Union Presbyterian Seminary. RSVP is requested: http://tinyurl.com/PoJspeakingtruth. Contact for further information about the event. Contact , chair of Peace, Justice and Inclusion to carpool.
