13 For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for self-indulgence, but through love become slaves to one another. 14 For the whole law is summed up in a single commandment, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Our Stewardship Season will begin this Sunday October 15, with a special sermon from Ken asking each of us to consider; ‘How will I serve?’. Over the course of the next several weeks members of our congregation will share with you the ways the Westminster Church has engaged their faith and helped them to live out the great commission to love our neighbors as ourselves. We will hear about social justice work in our community, about the funding Westminster donates to local and international non-profits, about what our youth are learning and doing, and about what it takes to maintain our Sanctuary and Church buildings in shape to serve our congregation, and many needs of the greater community around us. All of this is leading to November 5th, when church members will ceremonially dedicate our pledges for the coming year. Among turning leaves, and spooky pumpkins, our congregation will contemplate together the blessings God has bestowed upon us, and discern how we will use the money and gifts that we have each been given to serve one another in love.
We look forward to spending this season with you.
