The first week of PACEM at Westminster is progressing with delicious meals being supplied by several of our youth groups (YAC, U-Kirk, Rite-13) and partner congregations (Meadows Presbyterian, Buck Mountain Episcopal, Charlottesville Vineyard Church). We are grateful to our Evening Hosts and Overnight volunteers for their time and energy. It takes many hands to provide for this ministry.
The PACEM Committee is still in need of two OVER NIGHT VOLUNTEERS for Wednesday March 7 and Thursday March 8. Please consider this opportunity for serving the men in our area experiencing homelessness.Sign up is available on line or call the church office.
As Westminster’s representative, of the Central Virginia Sanctuary Network, an organization to help facilitate immigrant issues in our community, I wanted to make you aware of an opportunity to donate beds of various sizes for potential individuals that would seek shelter in a sanctuary church in Richmond.
There will also be a sanctuary church in Charlottesville in the near future, which will be a high priority for us, and I will keep you informed of needs there, as they arise.
If you have a bed that you would be willing to donate, please contact Dick Redding.
