Visiting a church for the first time can be an anxious experience. At Westminster, greeters offer first time visitors gift bags with helpful information about our community and a few hospitality gifts as well!
Tips for First Time Visitors at Westminster Presbyterian Church
1. Where can I sit? Okay, that’s an easy one. At WPC, you are free to sit anywhere you like, and if you join the choir, you can sit next to our tracker action pipe organ! Upon finding the right pew, don’t be afraid to ask questions or introduce yourself to the people beside you. You’ll soon discover that the people who attend Westminster are just like you. When we enter through the sanctuary doors on Sunday morning, we come with our doubts, our faith, our questions, our church experiences, and our hungering desire to learn more about the radical inclusive love of God. So, sit where you like.
2. Are the pastors cool? Yes. The pastors at WPC are here to guide and listen to anyone needing prayer and attention. Lynne and Dorothy are available to answer your questions and listen to your spiritual journey. In the Presbyterian Church(USA), our pastors are well trained in preaching, pastoral care, and bringing inspiring worship to the people of God every Sunday.
3. How do I sign up? Signing up to be a part of a community of faith begins when you feel ready to take the next step. All are welcome to worship here, but the next step means telling us something about you or attending a new member class or coming to one of several events listed in the insert each week. Of course, our hope is that you would take the next step and grow in your faith with us. But for now, as a first time visitor, enjoy the music, the sermon, the prayers, the people, and the feeling that God is in this place.
