Christian Education Long-Range Plan Goals and Objectives

GOAL:
To promote the understanding of the reformed tradition through a diversity of approaches and including the examination of the confessions, scripture, spiritual practice, and polity

OBJECTIVES: 

Children's Education

  1.  Seek feedback from shepherds, leaders, teachers, parents, and children.
  2.  Promote an understanding of the reformed tradition through curricula selection and review.
  3.  Provide support and development of WoRM (Workshop Rotation Model), traditional church school, and Vacation Bible School
  4.  Implement early recruitment and training of teachers.
  5.  Promote and encourage the inclusion of children within the church community. 
  6. Support the Christian Educator in her duties.

Youth

  1. Recruit and train leaders with ample time for development.
  2. Listen to the youth by feedback re their program making adjustments as necessary.
  3. Create a Youth Center.
  4. Provide Youth Activities for all the youth of the church.
  5. Strengthen the Young Adults in the Church (YAC) program with a variety of activities.

Adults

  1. Determine how best to serve those who are not participating in weekly Sunday school classes.
  2. Evaluate the past three to four years and assess gaps that may have occurred in the curriculum.
  3. Initiate a process to identify a set of “core competencies” adults need to have to be/act as mature Christians.
  4. Continue to create and maintain a community of ethical and theological discourse.
